Lipase–powered FOG action
Lower–pH performance
De-emulsifying support
Odor-source control
Scalable delivery
Breakdown FOG. Support compliance. Keep systems flowing.
Remedi Trap is a ready-to-use, multi-strain liquid bacterial treatment designed for commercial and industrial FOG management programs.
Lipase–producing bacteria help break large fats, oils, and grease molecules into smaller components for ongoing biological digestion in low – pH, high-load systems.
- Vegetable, soy, canola and olive oil
- Lard, beef, tallow, butter, and solid fats
- Food, waste, starch, proteins, and cellulose
Advanced biological FOG control for commercial systems
Managing fats, oils, grease, food, waste, odors, and drain-line buildup at the source.
Lipase powered FOG digestion
Application – specific bacteria produce lipase enzymes that help convert large grease molecules for biological digestion.
De-emulsifying system
Help separate water, soluble contaminants from oil soluble FOG, supporting trap and interceptor performance.
Lower – pH resilience
Selected bacteria are designed to remain active in lower pH conditions created as fats and oils are degraded.
Food and wastewater applications
For restaurants, commercial, kitchens, hospitals, schools, wet wells, food facilities, and wastewater systems
Directions for use
Consistent FOG treatment for commercial and industrial systems
Preparation
- She gently before use, unless using a Remedi Automatic Delivery System.
- Confirm trap size, facility operating hours, FOG load, and designated application point before beginning of program.
Delivery
- Do not dilute; Remedi Trap is ready to use.
- Use bulk packaging, automated metering, or pumping systems where appropriate.
- Consult a Remedi representative for site-specific dosage and delivery recommendations.
Application
- Pour or meter a consistent amount at the same time each day or night, preferably at the end of a shift.
- Apply to grease traps, interceptors, kitchen drain lines, wet wells, wastewater, piping, or approved treatment points.
- Maintain a regular schedule based on FOG load and facility conditions.

FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
What is REMEDI TRAP?
REMEDI TRAP is a ready-to-use, multi-strain liquid bacterial treatment for fats, oils, grease (FOG), and food-related waste in commercial drain lines, grease traps, and grease interceptors.
Where can TRAP be used?
It is intended for commercial and industrial FOG-management programs, including grease traps, grease interceptors, kitchen drain lines, wet wells, wastewater piping, food-service facilities, and other approved treatment points.
What types of material does it target?
TRAP is formulated for common FOG and food residues, including vegetable, soy, canola, and olive oils; solid fats such as lard, tallow, and butter; and food-related starches, proteins, and cellulose.
How does TRAP work?
Its application-specific bacteria produce lipase enzymes that help break larger oil and grease molecules into smaller components for biological digestion. Its de-emulsifying system is designed to separate the water-soluble phase from the oil-soluble FOG phase, helping grease-control equipment work more effectively.
Do I need to dilute TRAP?
No. TRAP is ready to use. Shake gently before use unless it is being used through a REMEDI Automatic Dispensing System.
How should TRAP be applied?
Pour or meter a consistent amount at the same time each day or night, preferably at the end of a shift. The correct amount and delivery point depend on trap size, operating hours, FOG load, plumbing configuration, and local requirements. Consult your REMEDI representative for a site-specific program.
Can TRAP replace pumping, cleaning, or inspections?
No. TRAP supports routine grease-trap and interceptor maintenance; it does not replace required pumping, physical cleaning, inspection, recordkeeping, or local discharge obligations. Follow your utility and regulator requirements.
Will TRAP reduce odors?
The product data sheet states that TRAP’s biological action can reduce odors associated with grease traps, interceptors, and drain lines. Results vary with system condition, loading, cleaning history, dosing consistency, and maintenance practices.
Will TRAP work in lower-pH grease traps?
Yes. The selected bacterial strains are formulated to remain effective in lower-pH conditions that may develop as fats and oils are degraded in grease traps and interceptors.
What maintenance practices should accompany TRAP?
Use TRAP as part of—not instead of—a complete FOG program:
- Keep food scraps and bulk grease out of drains
- Dry-wipe pots, pans, and plates before washing
- Use and empty drain strainers
- Maintain scheduled cleaning or pump-outs
- Keep service and dosing records
- Follow local sewer authority requirements
