What is Remedi Pet+?
Remedi Pet + is the homeowner-labeled version of the Air + formula. It is a concentrated bio-enzymatic odor treatment designed primarily for persistent odors in carpet and other compatible, porous surfaces, with additional uses in upholstery, fabrics, hard surfaces, pet areas, and trash cans.
How is Pet + different from Pet Air?
Pet + is designed for deeper surface treatment, especially for carpet. The supplied Air + materials describe a broader enzymatic approach and a stronger odor-encapsulation system to help address organic odor residue and recurring malodor. Pet Air is the simpler home odor-control option; Pet + is the more intensive option when odor has reached carpet, fibers, backing, padding, upholstery or other porous materials.
What odors and stains can Pet + help with?
Pet + is intended for persistent organic odor problems, and related residue, including:
- Pet urine and urine crystals
- Urine stains and odor residue
- Vomit and food residue
- Pet bedding and upholstery odors
- Trash can and garbage odors
- Smoke affected fabrics and surfaces
Results vary with the age of the stain, carpet, fiber, dye stability, pad/subfloor, involvement, and prior cleaning attempts.
How do I treat pet urine on carpet?
- Blot fresh urine immediately – do not scrub
- Remove visible soil and test hidden area for color stability
- Mix and apply pet + according to the final label
- Apply enough solution to reach the same depth as the urine
- For deep contamination, treat carpet, backing, and padding when appropriate
- Allow the area to dry naturally before judging results
Avoid steam or high heat on urine-affected fabric, since heat can set some odors and stains.
How should I dilute pet +?
Use the final approved label as the authority. The supplied Air + materials provide these examples:
- Severe odors: 1 part pet + to 1 part water
- Moderate odors: 1 part Pet+ to 8 parts water
- Mild odors: 1 part Pet+ to 16 parts water
Should I rinse PET+ from carpet after repeated use?
Yes. After repeated applications on the same carpet area, a plain-water rinse followed by thorough extraction is a good finishing step - after PET+ has had its label-directed contact time.
- Use clean, lukewarm water only.
- Rinse lightly; do not over-wet carpet or padding.
- Extract as much moisture as possible with a carpet extractor or wet vacuum.
- Make extra dry extraction passes.
- Use fans and ventilation until completely dry.
This can help remove loosened urine residue and any remaining cleaning-product residue.
Can I use PET+ on upholstery, rugs, and fabrics?
Yes, on compatible materials. Always test a small hidden area first and let it dry to check for color or texture change. Do not use it on materials that bleed, discolor, or are water-sensitive. For wool, silk, antique, specialty, or dry-clean-only items, consult the manufacturer or a qualified cleaner.
Can I use PET+ in trash cans?
Yes. Empty and clean the trash can first, then treat the interior surfaces and the lid according to the final label. Allow surfaces to dry before returning the bin to service. Reapply after heavy odor events or spills as needed.
Will PET+ leave a sticky residue?
The supplied AIR+ materials state that the formula is designed to avoid a sticky, soil-attracting residue when used as directed. On heavily treated carpet or fabric, fibers may feel slightly stiff after drying; gentle vacuuming, raking, or brushing can restore softness. A plain-water rinse and extraction can be useful after repeated treatments.
Is PET+ safe to use around pets?
Use only as directed on the final label. Keep pets out of the treated area until it is completely dry, and do not apply directly to animals, food, water bowls, toys, or treats unless the label specifically permits it. Store the concentrate where pets cannot access it.
What if the odor comes back?
A returning odor usually means new contamination occurred, remaining material is hidden, or the treatment did not reach the full depth of the affected area. Check carpet backing, padding, subfloor, upholstery filling, pet beds, and nearby hard surfaces. For severe or recurring odors, consider a qualified carpet-cleaning or restoration professional.
